How Positions & Category Protection Work

Each Community Board has exactly six physical positions. Positions themselves are not assigned to specific trades in advance.

Physical Positions, Not Category SlotsAny eligible local business may purchase an open position, as long as its category is not already protected by an existing business on that board.
Exclusive Category ProtectionOnce a protected category is represented on a board, another business in that same protected category cannot be added to that board.
